Profile of a Black Woman began as a series of four drawings for an Independent Study class. Drawing from my love, honor, and respect for Black Women I wanted to take the series further. So I gathered my my art, as well as a group of my close poetic friends to organize an exhibition consisting of not only art but also spoken word poetry and singing to show the beautiful sisters on Southern Univeristy's campus that we do cherrish them as the queens that they are.
